Home › Retreats › Andalusian Yoga & Wellness Escape: Daily Vinyasa, Organic Farm Food and Hiking in the Hills
Andalusia · 7 days · From EUR 950
A typical day at Suryalila starts early. The morning class is an energising vinyasa or hatha session in one of the dedicated yoga studios, and it runs before breakfast — usually around 90 minutes. Breakfast is vegetarian and largely organic, much of it grown on the property's own permaculture farm, Danyadara. After that the day is yours until the late-afternoon restorative class: people swim in the saltwater pool, book a massage, walk the olive groves, or take one of the centre's day trips into the surrounding Andalusian countryside.
The Adventure and Yoga Retreat weeks are the most active option. Alongside the daily yoga, the week includes guided outdoor excursions into the nearby Natural Parks — hiking routes through the Sierra de Grazalema area, cycling, and visits to the white villages that dot the hills. It is not a bootcamp; the activity is walking and sightseeing at a relaxed pace, with the yoga as the constant.
If you want to build your own week instead, the 'Retreat Yourself' packages let you book 5, 6 or 7 nights and choose what you add on — extra treatments, more excursions, deeper yoga immersion. You get the standard daily yoga and full board either way, and you can bolt on as much or as little as you like.
Suryalila is also known for its teacher trainings. The Frog Lotus Yoga school was founded by Vidya Heisel, who won the 2024 OM Yoga Award for Favourite Yoga Teacher Trainer, and FLY has certified more than 3,500 instructors worldwide. The centre runs 200-hour in-person and hybrid trainings plus shorter continuous-education modules covering Yin yoga, strength and mobility, acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The property is a genuine farm, not a spa with a vegetable patch. There is a working permaculture project, an olive oil plantation, a saltwater pool, several yoga studios, a massage therapy room, a boutique (Shakti Boutique) and a café (Amrita Café). Pets and animals are part of daily life here. It feels more like a rural estate that happens to host yoga than a hotel with a yoga room bolted on.
