Home › Retreats › Atlantic Surf & Yoga Weeks: Cross-Training, Beach Breaks and Full-Board Surf Camps in France, Portugal, Morocco & Beyond
Europe · 7 days · From EUR 309
A typical day starts early with breakfast at the camp, then a van run to whichever beach is working that morning. Beginner groups stay in the white water close to shore with an instructor in the water beside them; intermediate and advanced surfers head to reef or point breaks depending on swell and tide. Sessions run around two hours, and most weeks include five or six coached sessions depending on conditions.
Afternoons split depending on the camp. At Moliets 24+, you get three yoga classes and two cross-training sessions across the week — usually scheduled for the afternoons when the wind is onshore and the surf is blown out. The Portuguese camps run two to three yoga sessions a week, and the Raposeira camp includes a daily beach transfer so you're not stuck if the surf is elsewhere. The Morocco camps are full board with three yoga sessions included, and the Fuerteventura camp adds a trekking tour and five dinners.
Accommodation varies from camp to camp. Some are surf houses with shared rooms and communal kitchens, others are boutique hotels or lodges with sea-view rooms and pools. The Algarve surf lodge has a pool and sea views, the Raposeira camp has a pool and garden set in open nature, and the Tamraght camp in Morocco is a surf hotel with spa access. In France, the Seignosse camp is a stylish surf house with a café attached.
What separates this from booking a random surf school is the structure. You're not just renting a board and hoping for the best — there's a camp leader, a set group, a schedule, and instructors who know the local breaks. The camps also run as genuine social trips: shared meals, shared vans, evening sessions, and the kind of setup where solo travellers slot in easily. Groups are split by surf level each morning, so you're surfing with people at roughly your ability rather than being held back or pushed too hard.
The 24+ camp in Moliets is the one to look at if you want an adult-only week with a bit more going on than just surfing — yoga and cross-training are built into the price. The family camp runs the same way but with kids' lessons and staggered activities so parents can surf while the kids are in their own session. And if you've never stood on a board, none of this matters — beginners are the majority at most of these camps and the instructors are used to first-timers.
