Thailand · 7 days · From EUR 434
A typical day starts early with a group run and skipping, followed by a Muay Thai session — pad work with a trainer, heavy bag rounds, clinch work and, depending on your level, sparring. Breakfast is after the first session, then there's a gap through the middle of the day. The second training block runs in the late afternoon, usually with more pad work and conditioning. The trainers adjust what they give you based on how you're handling it, so someone on their first week isn't doing what a fighter preparing for a bout is doing.
What separates this from a lot of Thai camps is that it's genuinely rural. Phetchabun isn't a beach town or a city — it's countryside, with local markets, waterfalls and a lake nearby. The camp runs weekly trips out to those, plus the Friday night market, so you see something of the area rather than just the gym and your room. The 300 Step Challenge is one of the regular features: a climb up a local stepped route that guests do as a group.
On the Wellness package, yoga and meditation are built into the week, along with aerial yoga, which is unusual for a Muay Thai camp. There's also a Thai cooking class so you learn what's going into the food you've been eating all week. A Thai massage is included for recovery, and there's an ice bath and pool on site for the same reason.
The camp has 10 trainers in total, all Thai, with stadium fighting experience. They handle the pad work and technique coaching themselves rather than leaving it to junior staff. Because group sizes are mixed, there's usually a spread of abilities in each session, and the trainers pair people up accordingly for drills.
The rooms are private and on site, which matters here — you're not commuting to training. Meals are cooked at the camp three times a day, and the food is standard Thai: rice, curries, stir-fries, fruit, eggs. If you're training twice a day, the food and the recovery facilities are as much a part of the setup as the gym. Most people stay a week at minimum, and plenty extend once they're there.
