Autumn Yoga and Hiking Week at DAS.GOLDBERG, Bad Hofgastein

Autumn Yoga and Hiking Week at DAS.GOLDBERG, Bad Hofgastein

Salzburg · 11 days

The hotel is built for looking out. Large glass fronts in the studios and suites frame the valley and the mountains, and the interiors use clay, linen and Swiss pine rather than anything glossy. Some rooms have a freestanding bathtub facing the view and a fireplace. If you want more privacy there are SPA.Suiten with their own Swiss pine sauna and relaxation room, and a Spa.Chalet with a private herbal sauna and skylights above the bed.

Hiking is the main daytime activity. Around 350 km of marked trails run through the Gastein Valley and you walk out of the hotel straight onto them. Christian, the hotel's mountain guide, leads guests out five times a week to spots he knows; the sunrise hike to the Biberalm finishes with a traditional farmer's breakfast. There is also a barefoot walk along the Sepp Poesie Forest Trail. Hiking poles, backpacks and e-bikes are lent at the hotel at no charge, so you can go independently if you prefer.

Nature's Nest is where the afternoon goes when the weather turns. The 22-metre infinity pool looks over Bad Hofgastein and on cold mornings steam sits on the water while the first snow shows on the far peaks. There is a whirlpool, a cold-water pool with a waterfall and several saunas. Treatments use mountain salt, honey and deep moor from the forest. Below the hotel, the natural bathing lake with its sandy beach stays usable until the end of October.

During Yoga.Herbst (16–26 October 2026) the hotel adds its own programme on top of the valley-wide festival. Damara Berger and Verena Lainer teach yoga fusion, vinyasa flow, hatha yoga, pranayama and meditation, and some sessions head outdoors to combine yoga with places in the valley. The hotel has been a partner of the festival for many years. Classes are complimentary for guests and suit first-timers and regulars alike.

Food follows the hotel's Wald.Wiese.Wertvolles. motto — forest, meadow, worth. Expect mushrooms, herbs and game in autumn, homemade bread, jams, herbal salts and the hotel's own liqueurs, and mostly regional produce. Breakfast is a buffet with coffee roasted in-house. Dinner is a five-course menu you put together yourself, choosing between the meat-and-fish line "Mein Wertvollstes" and the vegetarian "Wald und Wiese". The bar stocks around 500 wines plus a wide range of gins and whiskies.

The hotel also runs a separate Longevity Inspiration retreat from 29 November to 4 December 2026, covering regeneration, sleep, movement and mental resilience. That is a different programme from the autumn yoga and hiking weeks described here.
