The week is centred on a single ayahuasca night ceremony. Where this differs from larger plant medicine gatherings is scale and quiet. The hotel has 10 individual rooms and the retreat is kept to solo travellers and small groups, so the garden, pool and sundeck are not shared with a big cohort. If you want a ceremony week without a crowded maloca, that is the practical difference here.
Food is included and simple: breakfast, a fruit plate for lunch, and a homemade healthy dinner described as international cooking. One large bottle of water and two detox juices come each day. The team is named as Markus and Manni, who say they have lived at and run the property for the last 15 years.
The location puts you in Bahia's coconut coast area, at the start of the Linha Verde and minutes from the Costa dos Coqueiros beaches. Jauá Beach is 4 kilometres away and Salvador's international airport is 14 kilometres from the hotel. The grounds are a green finca-style park with hammocks, a pool, a sundeck and a restaurant.
One thing to plan for: visitors from the US, Canada and various other countries need a visa for Brazil, so check your own entry requirements before booking. Bring sunscreen, swimwear, insect repellent for the evenings and comfortable clothes to sweat in.
