Ayurveda and Yoga Week at a 17th-Century Palazzo Above the Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast · 7 days · From GBP 2600 (indicative)

The palazzo sits in five acres of private gardens, with rooms in the historic main building and in two Mediterranean villas set among the trees. Mornings begin with practice — Yoga Sadhana and breath-led work — and a fire ritual opens some days. Your Vaidya consultation sets what your five private treatments look like: oil-based Ayurvedic therapies, TCM, subtle bodywork. Group classes run five or more times a day, and there are art-based sessions and quiet time built in between them.

What separates this from a standard yoga week is the clinical side. Every guest is assessed individually by a Vaidya before treatments are assigned, and the practitioners work as a team rather than as one headline teacher. If you want more than the standard week, Datu offers separate Ayurveda, TCM and Longevity packages with 12 pre-scheduled treatments a week, an online consultation before you arrive and a month of aftercare afterwards — ask them directly for details and prices.

Over Easter, Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche teaches Tummo, the Tibetan inner-heat practice, starting with an introduction before visualisation, breath techniques and movement. His second session is Dzogchen meditation, which involves no technique at all — sitting and observing the mind as it is. Exact Easter dates are to be confirmed.

The setting does a lot of the work. Rooms open onto terraces facing the sea, bathrooms are finished in marble and Vietrese majolica tiles, and the gardens run down towards the coastline. It is quiet, and deliberately so.

Getting there is straightforward: Naples (NAP) and Salerno Costa Amalfi (QSR) are both about an hour away by train or car, and Rome is roughly two hours by high-speed rail. Datu can arrange transfers. Many guests add a day or two for the Amalfi Coast, Paestum or Pompeii. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out at 10:30.
