Rishikesh · 7 days · From USD 385
The Body and Mind Detox at SaptaShuddhi Yoga and Wellness is a structured seven-day program combining Ayurvedic therapy, a juice cleanse, daily yoga, and mental wellness practices. The center, whose name means 'seven levels of purification,' focuses on traditional healing to balance the body, mind, and spirit in the spiritual capital of Rishikesh.
Each day includes a mix of physical, mental, and therapeutic activities. Mornings feature pranayama and a yoga class suitable for all levels—whether you've never practiced or you're advanced, the teachers adapt to your needs. Afternoons are for Ayurvedic treatments, with Abhyanga oil massages being a highlight, followed by free time to rest or explore. Evenings include another yoga class and either meditation, Yoga Nidra, or sound healing.
The detox itself centers on three types of fresh juices: green juice for liver detoxification and digestion, red juice for circulation and reducing inflammation, and fruit juice for vitamins and hydration. These are paired with meals built around locally sourced vegetables, fruits, and five different types of millet—a nutrient-dense grain that's naturally gluten-free and rich in fiber.
What sets this retreat apart is the team. Host Pranjal, an E-RYT 500 instructor with 10 years of teaching experience, brings deep classical Hatha knowledge from his training in Sivananda and Ashtanga traditions. He's joined by Acharya Eknath Shree, a Vedic scholar raised in an ashram, who teaches meditation and philosophy, and Shubham Uniyal, who has a postgraduate degree in Yogic Science and focuses on classical Hatha Yoga. Together they offer a mix of practical instruction and spiritual depth.
The retreat also includes excursions. You'll visit Ram Jhula and experience the Ganga Aarti, a fire ceremony on the riverbanks that's a must-see in Rishikesh. One day begins before sunrise with a trip to Kunjapuri Temple for a panoramic Himalayan view—a memorable start to the day.
By the end of the week, guests often report improvements in digestion, energy levels, and sleep, plus a sense of calm that lingers. The program is not just about what you do here; it's about developing habits you can carry into daily life, something many past guests mention in their reviews.
