Home › Retreats › Ayurvedic Wellness Retreat in Udupi: Yoga, Therapies and Satvik Food
India · 7 days · From EUR 1033
A typical day starts early with Ushapana, a gentle walk through the grounds and a herbal tea, then yoga and pranayama before breakfast. After that come your scheduled doctor consultations and Ayurvedic therapies, then lunch and a rest period. The afternoon is for more personalised treatments and wellness activities, and the evening can bring yoga or movement, meditation, Yoga Nidra or Agni Hotra, plus health-awareness sessions, group activities or healthy cooking sessions depending on the schedule. Dinner is followed by quiet time and an early night. The exact mix changes with your assessment and your doctor's recommendations.
What separates this from a general yoga week is the medical structure. Every guest is assessed for Prakriti (constitution) and Vikriti by senior doctors, and the therapies, food and daily rhythm are set from that. The programme follows Ritucharya, the Ayurvedic approach to living with the seasons, and is pitched at the winter months, so the oils, spices and dishes are chosen to be warming and grounding rather than cooling.
Dr. Aiman A. Nisarudeen is the Ayurvedic physician here. She holds a BAMS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, plus certifications in Yoga Education and Holistic Therapy, and works in Panchakarma, detox therapies, Sandhigata Rogas and pulse diagnosis. She builds the personalised care plans and adjusts them as your stay goes on.
The property sits in Kukkehalli near Udupi, surrounded by greenery, with a herbal garden and orchards you can walk through. Guests fly into Mangalore International Airport (IXE) and continue by taxi or pre-arranged road transfer, or arrive by train via Mysore Junction or Mangalore Central/Junction. November can still bring occasional rain; December is drier and sunnier.
Before you leave you get a wellness guide with dietary and lifestyle recommendations and a basic herbal kit, so the food and routine you followed here can carry on at home. The programme is for wellness purposes and is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
