Home › Retreats › Bali Surf & Yoga Week: Daily Surf Guiding, 3-Course Breakfasts and Beachside Living in Canggu
Indonesia · 7 days · From USD 427
Morning surf sessions go out by car or boat to different breaks around the Bukit, Canggu and Seminyak coastlines, chosen each day based on swell, tide and the group's level. Beginners tend to get taken to the gentler beach breaks — Batu Bolong, Old Man's, Double Six, Seminyak Beach — while intermediate and advanced surfers head for places like Berawa, Petitenget, Ku De Ta and, at the top end, Echo Beach, which is Canggu's proper performance wave: fast, hollow reef, brilliant at sunset, and no joke. Everyone regroups for a second session later in the day, so the actual water time adds up to roughly two sessions daily across six days.
What separates this from a standard surf camp is the guided structure plus the non-surf kit. Both properties run daily yoga (in Seminyak it's Monday to Saturday, in the tropical garden), and Canggu goes further with three pools, a 15-metre natural climbing wall facing the ocean, a surfskate area, a 400 m² gym and a co-working space for anyone half-working through the trip. Video coaching and theory lessons run alongside the sessions, which matters more than it sounds — seeing your own paddle technique on screen is what usually shifts people from catching whitewater to catching green waves.
Evenings are social by design. Canggu runs live music, BBQ nights, workshops and community events; Seminyak leans into beach-club territory, with KuDeTa minutes away and pool parties and BBQs put on at the camp. Neither is a party camp you can't escape from — the tropical gardens, hammocks, sun decks and suspended lounge nets are genuinely quiet places to sit with a book after a day in the water.
On the accommodation side, you're choosing between shared or double rooms depending on camp. Indo-style rooms in Seminyak come as Standard or Deluxe, many with balconies over the pool, and the Canggu surf house leans modern-tropical — bright shared rooms with natural materials, or double rooms with balconies. Breakfast is served 7am–12pm in Seminyak, coffee and tea flow until 6pm in Canggu, and both have lush gardens as the centrepiece rather than a car park.
Beyond the board, the area is worth the flight. Uluwatu Temple and Tanah Lot are both easy day trips, Ubud's rice terraces and Monkey Forest are about an hour out, and Nusa Lembongan is doable in a day for snorkelling. Mount Batur and Mount Agung sunrise hikes can be organised on site, as can rafting, diving, massages and SUP. May to September is the dry season and the steadiest window, but Bali's swell runs year-round and the water sits at about 28°C, so no wetsuit either way.
