Băile Felix is a thermal spa town about 10 km from Oradea in north-west Romania. The water comes out warm and mineral-rich, and the whole resort is organised around using it: pools, treatment centres and rehabilitation clinics, with hotels attached to them. Turism Felix S.A. has been running the hotels and pools here since 1995.

A typical stay means a room in one of the hotels plus a course of balneotherapy procedures at the attached treatment centre. That covers physiotherapy, kinetotherapy and medical rehabilitation — the kind of programme people book after orthopaedic surgery, for chronic joint or back problems, or simply to rest. The treatment centres are on site at Hotel Termal and Hotel Poienița; guests at Hotel Nufărul use the balneotherapy centre and thermal pools at Hotel Termal, and also have access to the Apollo-Felix complex.

The hotels differ mainly in comfort level and price. Hotel Termal (three stars) is the landmark property, with its own thermal pools, a modern treatment centre and wellness facilities. Hotel Nufărul (three stars) is central and forested. Hotel Poienița (three stars) is the affordable, welcoming option with its own pools and treatment centre. Hotel Mureș (two stars) is the long-standing budget choice, valued for its extensive treatment facilities and outdoor thermal pool. Hotel Internațional (four stars) is closed for a complete renovation.

Beyond the hotels, the Apollo-Felix complex has indoor and outdoor thermal pools, relaxation areas and leisure facilities, open all year, with tickets sold separately. Venus Waterland is a summer water park with pools, modern facilities and green spaces, a short walk from Băile Felix.

This is not a fitness retreat and there is no exercise programme, instructor or group training on offer. It is a medical and recovery spa resort. If you want structured training, this is the wrong listing; if you want warm mineral water, physiotherapy and a quiet week, it fits.
