Home › Retreats › Beginner Surf and Yoga Retreat on the Sintra Coast
Portugal · 8 days · From USD 800
The retreat is based at The Peak House, a guesthouse in Sintra run by brothers Diogo and Duarte. They started the project after years of travelling and surfing, and they've built the house around the idea of sharing their local breaks and the slower pace of life in Sintra with guests. The vibe is friendly and family-like, and you're staying in a home rather than a resort.
Your days start with breakfast at the house, then you're driven to the beach for a surf session. The instructors work with complete beginners and people who want to build confidence, so the pace matches where you're at. Afternoons are free, and evenings usually end with dinner together back at the house.
Maria, a yoga instructor who trained in India after being drawn there by her connection to nature, leads the three yoga sessions. They're beginner-friendly and designed to complement the surfing, working on flexibility and balance.
The house itself has a pool, a yoga deck, chill-out zones, and a tennis table. It's close to the village of Sintra, with its palaces and castles visible from the rooms, and the beach is a short drive away. The whole week is about getting comfortable in the ocean and enjoying the simple things – sunsets, good food, and good company.
