Home › Retreats › Creativity, Yoga & Mentorship Retreat in the Guatemalan Highlands
Guatemala · 3 days · From USD 724
This three-night, four-day journey is grounded in Lake Atitlán's beauty and the intentional community built at Casa Kula and Casa Rosa. The days are structured around a light framework: arrival and intention-setting on the first day, then mornings of lake-view yoga with meditation, breathwork and journal pages, followed by one-on-one mentorship sessions. The retreat plays with the combination of yoga and creativity, using cacao, ritual and daily practices to open awareness. Depending on the package you choose, you'll also take part in ritual creative workshops — writing, art, music, crafts or cooking — and, for Golden Package guests, a full-body massage and sunset yin yoga. The final morning brings a fire ceremony and integration mentorship.
The retreat is deliberately small, with a group size of between one and five participants. Because it's private, every element can be adjusted. You might arrive feeling mentally exhausted, creatively blocked, or simply craving a proper rest in nature. The schedule makes space for all of it, with quiet afternoons left open for rest, exploration or diving deeper into your creative process. There are also optional upgrades, including extra nights before or after, a 90-minute massage, and a full meal package with healing brunch and dinner.
Casa Kula is the Guatemalan home of the Kula Collective co-founders, set among tropical plants, avocado trees and coffee forests with a view over the lake and volcanoes. Classes, workshops and meals take place at Casa Rosa, Julia's garden sanctuary five minutes up the hill, with a wide deck and permaculture gardens. The retreat is designed to feel like you're being held by a small community rather than checked into a resort. Meals, where included, are plant-based and whole food focused, with options for cleansing, weight loss, gut healing, or just healthy indulging. If you want to be more self-sufficient, there are cafes and restaurants nearby in Tzununa and the surrounding lake towns.
The setting is busy with opportunities for those who want them — hiking, swimming, horse riding, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and rock climbing are all possible in the area. But none of it is compulsory. The retreat’s real focus is the one-on-one time with Julia, her mentorship and the space to reconnect with your own creative voice, away from daily distractions. You leave with practical tools and a ritual practice to take home, plus a Guatemalan embroidered notebook to keep writing in.
