CrossFit Pirate Camp Phuket — Drop-In Training and Camps in Chalong

Thailand · 1 days

Classes are the core of what happens here. You book in, turn up, and do the workout of the day with the group — one hour, scaled to your level, led by a coach. If you're new to CrossFit, the coaches will take you through the fundamentals so you can safely join the regular classes. If you've trained before, you can drop into classes straight away.

This is a working CrossFit affiliate rather than a purpose-built retreat resort. There's no set itinerary, no included meal plan and no arranged excursions — you organise your own accommodation along Soi Ta-iad and your own food, though the street itself is built around people training, so gyms, fight camps and healthy restaurants are all within walking distance.

The gym is owned by Ryan Fryer, who is listed as the owner on the gym's profile. Full coach and staff details are on the gym's own site. For anyone who wants to know specific coach certifications or class programming before committing, contacting the gym directly is the way to get that.

Soi Ta-iad itself is the main draw beyond the gym. It's a compact strip in Chalong in the south of Phuket, roughly 15–20 minutes from Chalong Pier, with dozens of training facilities and cafés packed into one road. That makes it easy to combine CrossFit with Muay Thai, BJJ or yoga on the same trip without needing transport between them.

What makes this different from a package retreat is flexibility. You're not locked into a fixed week with a fixed schedule — you drop in for a session, or a few weeks, and train around whatever else you're doing on the island. The trade-off is that nothing is arranged for you: no transfers, no accommodation, no meals. You're paying for coaching and access to the gym, and handling the rest yourself.
