Greece
An eight-day self-guided island-hopping cycling holiday in the Cyclades. Each day you ride a different island, then take the ferry on to the next. The trip starts at Lavrio port near Athens and ends at Piraeus.
The route covers five islands: the beaches and hilltop capital Ioulida on Kea, the hill country of Kythnos and the village of Dryopida with its stalactite cave, Syros and its elegant capital Hermoupolis, the windmills and white villages of Paros, and finally Serifos, where you climb to the hilltop Chora.
Most riding days offer a short route of roughly 22–29 km or a longer one of up to about 51 km, so you can choose how much to ride. The islands are hilly and the tour is graded challenging. Ferries between the islands are included, help with luggage is provided at each port, and you navigate with GPS routes on a phone app with 24-hour emergency phone support. You stay seven nights in 3-star hotels with breakfast.
