Cyprus Women's Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat: Nourish, Reconnect, Reset

Cyprus · 7 days · From USD 1370

The daily rhythm is fixed and simple. At 7.30am you're on the mat for morning yoga and meditation by the sea, followed by breakfast at 9.30am. Midday brings a second yoga and meditation session at 12.00pm, then a Cypriot vegetarian lunch at 1.00pm. From 2.00pm to 5.00pm you're free — pool, sea, gardens, or a walk into Polis. At 5.00pm there's a talk on Ayurveda, yoga or meditation, supper is a sunset buffet at 7.15pm, and at 8.30pm the day closes with candlelit yoga nidra under the stars. The programme runs this way from Sunday 11 October through to the final full day.

What sets this apart from a general yoga holiday is the Ayurveda component and the guided inner-journey work. Sara Palmer holds an M.A. and is a member of YAP (Yoga Alliance Professionals), APA and CMA, with more than 30 years studying Eastern wisdom traditions and her own recovery from chronic illness shaping how she teaches. The talks aren't surface-level wellness content — they cover Ayurvedic lifestyle principles, daily routine, and healing herbs, and they're scheduled daily rather than once or twice.

On Saturday 10 October you can check in any time after 3pm, with airport taxis arranged for you, a welcome buffet supper at 7.00pm, and a plate set aside if your flight lands late. The first yoga class is a gentle one at 8am on Sunday 11 October, designed to ease you in after travelling. Day 5 is the one break in the routine: an optional excursion along the coastal path of the Akamas Peninsula to Aphrodite's Baths, with lunch at Aphrodite Bath's Taverna. Budget roughly €40–50 for taxis and lunch that day.

The venue is a family-run eco-hotel, and much of what you eat is grown on site — the hotel makes its own breads, preserves, olive oil and cheeses and keeps an herb garden, olive grove, orange grove and vegetable fields. The beach in front is long and mostly deserted. Polis is a 15-minute walk away, and Paphos International Airport is about 45 minutes by taxi.

Sara's own description of her intention is straightforward: she wants guests to leave with knowledge they can keep using — the Ayurveda and yoga tools to support their health long after the week ends. Practically, that means structured daily teaching rather than a retreat where you're left to your own devices.
