A typical day runs from 5:30am to 9:30pm, and the timetable is printed down to the quarter hour. After waking, you head to the Kriya Pavilion at 6am for yogic kriyas. These are cleansing routines from the yoga tradition, and the doctors prescribe which ones you do. At 7am there's a prescribed juice or herbal shot, then a 45-minute morning yoga class in the Wellness Pavilion. Body composition testing happens early, between 6:45 and 8:30am, before you eat. Breakfast is served at Vistara, the main dining pavilion, from 7:30 to 9am.
From 9am to lunch the centre is busy. Doctors run consultations and follow-ups. Your personal wellness services, like massages, wraps and personal training, are booked into slots. Group classes run from 9:45 until noon: functional fitness, aqua, dance and the gentler options. Twice a week there's a 45-minute cooking class at the Soulful Spoon. Lunch is from noon to 2pm, followed by a 30-minute talk on a health topic. The afternoon repeats the morning pattern, with more classes and one-to-one sessions until about 5pm. Then comes evening yoga, a short therapeutic yoga session, and Sandhya meditation at 6:15pm. Guests on a liquid cleanse have their own juice service at Tejus instead of the regular meals.
The main difference from most fitness retreats is the medical side. Atmantan is accredited by NABH, India's National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers. Every programme is led by a consulting doctor. You fill in a detailed health questionnaire two weeks before arrival, with your medical records. The doctor sets your diet and therapy plan, watches your progress daily and sees you again before you leave. The package inclusions are listed as indicative because the doctor can swap things in or out based on what they find. Colon hydrotherapy, for example, is only done if prescribed.
The training starts with a fitness assessment and diagnostics that decide your workout plan. The certified fitness and movement team runs functional training, kickboxing, hiking, strength training, core work, Pilates, cross training and anti-gravity exercise. The Reax kit stands out: the Reax Board is a smart training floor, the Reax Lift is a soft-shock barbell built for safe training with unstable loads, and Reax Lights are reaction drills that train coordination, vision and response time. The workload is set around your endurance level, so a sedentary beginner and a regular gym-goer get very different sessions.
Recovery is built into the package. Each stay includes a set number of 50-minute therapies chosen from aromatherapy, 'Arm & a Leg' recovery, destress head and spine therapy, foot reflexology, an invigorating body therapy and a Vedic spice body therapy. Six therapies come with the 7-night package and 41 with the 42-night package. You also get a body wrap, a private stretch and Chi Nei Tsang, an abdominal massage technique. Longer stays add Udwarthanam (a dry herbal powder massage used for cellulite), lymphatic drainage, hammam sessions and scrubs. Guests have unlimited use of the steam room, infrared sauna, a temperature-controlled indoor pool with a vitality shower, and an outdoor salt pool.
The page frames the programme as being for people dealing with obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes, fatigue linked to weight, heart health concerns or a long stretch of sitting at a desk. Its published case studies include a 44-year-old woman on a 21-night stay who lost just over 4kg, and a 63-year-old man on a 7-night stay whose blood pressure came down and who lost 2kg. Any changes to medication in those cases were made under the doctors' supervision.
