Dolomites Yoga & Hiking Week: Mountains, Movement and Mountain Hut Lunches

South Tyrol · 8 days · From EUR 1450

The week runs Saturday to Saturday, based in a village in the Dolomites with the hotel a short walk from where the trails start. Day one is arrival, a gentle evening yoga session and dinner, then the real programme starts on the Sunday. Most mornings begin with 60-90 minutes of yoga in the hotel's practice space or, when it's warm enough, outside on the terrace overlooking the valley. Breakfast follows, then the group heads out for the day's walk.

The walks vary in length and difficulty. The Tre Cime di Lavaredo loop is the big one — around four to five hours with a proper climb at the start and the three peaks in view almost the whole way round. The five-lake walk near Misurina is longer distance but flatter, and good for anyone who wants a full day out without scrambling. There's a via ferrata option for those with the head for it, kitted out and guided, and a day set aside to walk a section of the Alta Via 1 through alpine meadow. On the rest day, people tend to take the cable car up to a high plateau and walk an easy circuit, or stay in the village and use the hotel's small spa.

Afternoon yoga is offered on most walking days — a shorter, restorative session, mostly stretching and hip openers, because that's what you need after five hours on your feet. It's optional. Some people skip it and head straight to the sauna.

The teacher leading the yoga has trained in both Hatha and Vinyasa and teaches in a way that works for mixed groups: no assumption that everyone can touch their toes, no pressure to do the fancy options. The hiking guide is a local, certified, and knows which huts do the best dumplings. The two of them have run these weeks together for several seasons now, which shows in how the days flow — the walks are planned around the yoga schedule rather than fighting it.

The village itself is small and quiet, with a handful of restaurants and a bakery that opens early. It's the kind of place where you can walk out of the hotel and be on a real trail within ten minutes. In the evenings, the group usually eats together, but it's not compulsory — there are other places to eat if you'd rather have an evening to yourself.
