Fight Club Philippines: Muay Thai, Boxing & Fitness Retreat in Palawan

Philippines · 7 days · From EUR 900

A typical day starts in the morning with a group class — Muay Thai pads, boxing drills, or BJJ depending on what you've signed up for. Sessions run with the coaches leading warm-ups, technique work and conditioning. Breakfast follows, then you're free until the late-afternoon session. In between there's Nagtabon Beach, a short walk away, where guests go to rest and watch the sunset. The evening class covers similar ground, so by the end of the day you've done two proper training blocks.

The fitness side isn't just combat sports. Guests who aren't interested in fighting book the fitness or weight-loss packages and do a mix of conditioning, strength work and boxing basics. One reviewer, Michel from Germany, said he did 'some boxing or Muay Thai or just basic fitness' across his week.

The on-site restaurant serves set meals. Nick from the USA was surprised by the quality — 'better than most of the places we have tried around Palawan' — and guests repeatedly mention the food as a highlight rather than an afterthought. Meals are Filipino-influenced and portions are sized for people training twice a day.

Accommodation is on-site and new, since the resort only recently opened. Rooms are comfortable and functional; the whole operation is designed so you can roll out of bed and into the gym. There's no town centre to walk into — this is a quiet stretch of coast near Nagtabon, and the appeal is exactly that.

What sets FCP apart from other fight camps is the combination of real coaching and a genuine beach location on Palawan, which Travel + Leisure readers have voted the world's best island. It's not a resort with a gym bolted on — it's a training camp that happens to be a five-minute walk from one of the island's better beaches. Coaches Welbeth and Johnson both compete and coach, and guests return specifically for them.
