Fiji Yoga Retreat: 7 Days of Oceanfront Practice on Vanua Levu

Fiji · 7 days · From USD 2800

The retreat runs 12–18 October 2025 at a secluded beachfront property on a remote peninsula of Vanua Levu. The resort is not reachable by road — you arrive by boat, which is part of the point. Rooms are in private and shared villas, each with a plunge pool and views out over the water. Yoga happens both indoors and outdoors, with mats and props provided.

A typical day starts with yoga and meditation from 7:30 to 9:00, then breakfast until 10:00. The middle of the day is open: rest, swim, paddleboard, kayak or snorkel, or join whatever excursion is running. Lunch is 1:00–2:00, followed by an adventure, cultural event or tour from 2:00 to 5:30. Restorative yoga or meditation runs 5:30–6:30, dinner is 6:30–8:00, and the evening winds down from 8:00.

What separates this from a generic beach yoga week is the access. Vanua Levu is undeveloped compared with Fiji's tourist islands, and the resort sits on the edge of the Rainbow Reef, one of the most vibrant living reefs in the world. Snorkel gear, paddleboards and kayaks are available throughout your stay, and there is a guided hike through the jungle where you might see parrots, flying foxes, turtles and iguanas.

The cultural side is built in rather than bolted on. There are traditional Fijian ceremonies on the beach at the start and end of the week, a visit to a local village, and a look at how local cooking uses what grows on the island. A chef's cooking demonstration and a cacao ceremony are also on the schedule.

Julia Morrison founded Wave Yoga Retreats and teaches hot power vinyasa, yin and meditation. She trained with Megan Mulrine at Yogatrotter Academy and teaches at Niantic Yoga and Soul Sweat Yoga Studios. Megan Mulrine founded Yogatrotter Academy, owns Niantic Yoga Studio and has led yoga teacher trainings in Bali since 2016. Her husband, meditation teacher Michael Saukulak, guides mindfulness practices during the week.

Group size is not stated on the page. The schedule is deliberately loose — every class, workshop and excursion is optional, and the hosts say they will encourage you to rest if that is what you need.
