Five-Day Yoga and Meditation Detox in Rishikesh, India

Rishikesh · 5 days · From EUR 360

The programme runs on a set daily rhythm. You wake at 06:00, do a short cleaning duty, then sit for self-guided meditation before the 07:00 Hatha yoga class. A 20-minute pranayama and detox session follows at 08:00, then breakfast at 09:00. On day two the late morning is spent trekking to a waterfall; otherwise the middle of the day is lunch at 13:00 and rest until 15:30. Late afternoon brings a 90-minute meditation session at 16:45, dinner at 19:00, and a digestive walk with journaling before lights out at 22:00.

The curriculum is split into four blocks: yoga foundation (introduction to meditation, breathing practices and relaxation techniques), pranayama (sitting posture and basic practice including Nadi Shodhana), yoga philosophy (what yoga is and why), and basic yoga anatomy covering health and yoga. Relaxation and meditation covers a sequence of relaxation practices and short two-to-five-minute meditation sits.

What separates this from a general yoga holiday is the teaching team. Swaraj Ji practises Nada Yoga and founded HUM, a Nada music-therapy temple in Rishikesh; he was initiated into Nada Yoga Sadhana at the age of three, holds a Bachelor's degree in Indian Classical Music, and teaches meditation in the Bhakti tradition as a Yoga Alliance certified Kundalini Yoga teacher. Yogi Naveen has taught yoga teacher training since 2015, has trained over 1,000 teachers in India and abroad, has taught in China and Vietnam, holds a Master's in yogic science and a 500-hour Yoga Alliance TTC, and is a certified prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher trainer. Raghav has taught meditation, pranayama, yogic philosophy and traditional Kundalini Yoga for five years and works as a pranic healer.

The setting is the Laxman Jhula area of Rishikesh, a riverside road lined with ashrams, cafes, artisan shops and guesthouses, with the Laxman Jhula suspension bridge a few steps away and views of temples and forested hills across the Ganges. Cycling, hiking and swimming are listed as nearby activities.

The school describes itself as one of the established yoga teacher training schools in Rishikesh, with a focus on traditional teaching and on students being able to lead training independently after their course. Guests have rated it 5.00 across 10 reviews, with location, value, teachers, accommodation, accuracy, food and communication all at 5.00.
