Four-Night Yoga and Sound Healing Break in the Rice Fields Outside Ubud, Bali

Indonesia · 5 days · From NPR 64000 (indicative)

Day one is arrival: a private airport pick-up and a drive of about 1.5 hours to the retreat, then check-in and an early night. The schedule is deliberately light, and the first proper activity comes on day two with the trip to the lake temple at Bedugul.

Day three pairs a sound healing session using singing bowls with the guided visit to Tirta Empul, where you go through the bathing ritual at the holy springs with a guide. Day four brings the yoga class, the 90-minute Balinese massage and the cooking class, which finishes with the meal you've cooked. Day five is departure, with a private transfer back to the airport.

What separates this from a busier Bali yoga week is the pace. There is one thing in each day, not five, and the yoga is a single class rather than a twice-daily programme. The rest of the time you're by the pool or walking the rice fields.

The hotel is a retreat or boutique property near Ubud with breakfast included, chosen for quiet rather than proximity to town. Private transfers on arrival and departure are part of the price, as is a private car with an English-speaking driver for both outings, and entry tickets to Ulun Danu Beratan and Tirta Empul.

The price starts from NPR 64,000 per person and covers everything inside Bali listed in the itinerary — hotels, transfers, tours and tickets. Flights from Kathmandu, the Indonesian e-visa (IDR 1,000,000, about NPR 8,600) and the Bali tourist levy (IDR 150,000 per person, paid online) are not included, nor are lunch and dinner beyond what's listed, travel insurance, extra classes and treatments, or tips.
