Greece Yoga Teacher Training: 200-Hour Vinyasa & Ashtanga Certification by the Ionian Sea

Greece · 23 days · From USD 2245

This is a full 200-hour Yoga Alliance training, delivered over 23 days in a small Greek coastal village. The curriculum is built around Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow, which means the morning asana practice is dynamic and physically engaging, not just a slow stretch session. Each day follows the same skeleton: pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting for the first hour, then a Vinyasa flow class. After a break, the afternoons are dedicated to the theory and practice of teaching—asana analysis, adjustment theory, and hands-on practice—alternating with deep dives into anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology. Evenings shift into restorative styles like Yin, Yoga Nidra, and Hatha, plus workshops that range from handstands to partner yoga and cacao ceremonies.

The teaching team is led by Eleni Chantzara, who has been practicing since 2009 and teaching for over a decade, with philosophy and pranayama supported by experienced teachers from the YogaUnion network. Reviews repeatedly mention the strength of the instruction, with one graduate describing the lead teacher as "the best" and another wishing philosophy classes could go on forever. The format is conversational and interactive; anatomy and philosophy are taught in a way that encourages questions and discussion rather than lectures.

What makes this training different from a standard YTT is the location and the length. At 23 days, it's longer than the typical 200-hour course, which allows more time for practice teaching, more rest days, and a slower absorption of material. Living in Mytikas means your days off can be spent swimming in the Ionian Sea, hiking the surrounding hills, or simply sitting at a taverna watching local life go by. The accommodation at Thesmos Village Hotel has a pool, a yoga shala with sea views, and an on-site restaurant serving Greek and international dishes, so everything you need is either in the hotel or a short walk away.
