The retreat runs Friday to Sunday. Check-in is at 12:00 on Friday and check-out at 11:00 on Sunday. Friday covers the welcome, group introductions, setting intentions and a 50-minute information session on what to expect and how to approach the experience. The first journey takes place that day. Saturday is the main ceremony day: a guided plant medicine journey with music, sound healing and therapeutic guidance, followed by post-ceremony sharing and integration support. Sunday morning is for reflection — gentle movement such as art work or a nature walk, group discussion, one-on-one integration coaching, and practical tools for taking insights home.
What separates this from other plant medicine retreats is the range of substances on offer. Most centres work with one; MindTravellers lists three — ayahuasca, magic truffles and Psilohuasca. The team also cites an ongoing collaboration with Maastricht University, which they say contributes to research and to making Psilohuasca more widely accessible. Guests are asked to complete a health registration when booking so the team can check conditions beforehand.
Rob is the main facilitator and retreat host. He describes the work as combining traditional knowledge with modern research, and the ceremonies as offered from a self-development perspective rather than a shamanistic one — the team supports the process without directing it. Suus is a therapist and yoga teacher who also does shamanic work; she plays music during ceremony, cooks for the group and holds space. A wider team of supervisors supports the sessions.
The setting is a spacious, recently renovated building with a large kitchen and a dedicated ceremony space. Culemborg is an old Dutch town on the river De Lek, and the programme includes walks along the water. The venue is a short walk from Culemborg station, roughly 50 minutes by train from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with a change at Utrecht Centraal. Airport transfers are not provided.
