Himalayan Yoga Teacher Training: 200-Hour Hatha & Ashtanga with Mountain Hikes

Rishikesh · 26 days · From USD 1165

The first 21 days are held at a peaceful ashram near Rishikesh, far from the tourist crowds. You'll practice Hatha Yoga in the morning, work on meditation, then move into the core teaching subjects: philosophy, alignment, adjustment, anatomy, and methodology. Afternoons bring Ashtanga Vinyasa to build stamina, followed by pranayama before dinner. The schedule is consistent and demanding—90% attendance is required—but Sundays are completely free, and Wednesdays mix a half-day excursion with self-study.

At the end of the training block, the group heads into the Himalayas for five days. You stay in one mountain basecamp hotel, walking each day to sites like Deoria Tal, Kartik Swami, and Devprayag, where the Ganges begins. The hiking is challenging, especially the 2am start to reach Chandrashila for sunrise, but the effort is rewarded with views and a sense of accomplishment. The integration phase is meant to let the training sink in, not just as theory but as lived experience.

This retreat is led by Kuldeep Bisht, the founder, who began his own journey by walking to Tungnath. He brings a grounded, personal style to teaching Hatha, Ashtanga, and pranayama. The school is a small, Indian-German operation focused on depth over flash, and the reviews speak to how much care goes into logistics and personal support.
