Host Your Own Yoga Retreat at SeaRock, Amorgos

The Rashmi geodesic dome is the centre of the property. It is a transparent Clear PET PVC structure with air conditioning and ceiling sunlight protection, giving an all-round view of the Amorgian coast while you practise. It holds up to 25 mats comfortably, so you can set the room up differently for a strong vinyasa class and a quieter evening session. A shala administrator handles the daily set-up to whatever look you want for your group. Beyond the standard props, SeaRock can organise candles, Tibetan chimes, small sound bowls, a meditation gong and basic fitness equipment such as Swiss balls, small fitness balls and resistance bands if you ask in advance.

SeaRock is the only property in its area, so your group has the place to itself. The team notes that depending on your package and group size, some individual guests may be staying at the same time, so it is worth confirming this when you book. The complex is spacious and the one shala is given to your group for the duration of the stay.

The restaurant is yours for the retreat, with a private chef on the property. Meals are freshly made, some with locally sourced produce, and the kitchen caters for vegetarian, vegan, allergies and other dietary preferences if you tell them at booking. Breakfast is a buffet served 07.30–10.30, lunch 12.30–16.00 and dinner 19.30–23.00, and the whole group eats together at the same time. Coffee from a barista team and a range of herbal teas are available for purchase.

The outdoor seawater pool has sun loungers and umbrellas, with sunset views over Nikouria. Guests also get complimentary use of the Lalon Idor Spa facilities at Aegialis Hotel & Spa — hammam, sauna, jacuzzi and indoor seawater pool — with beauty and body treatments available at extra cost. Wi-Fi is free across the property.

Amorgos is the easternmost of the Cyclades and can only be reached by boat. Ferries run from Athens and from other islands, with more connections between the end of May and the end of September; both ports, Aegiali and Katapola, need to be checked when looking at schedules. Arrival and departure transfers on the island are usually included in the package. The property is within walking distance of the main town area, with a secluded beach just footsteps away. The team has been hosting yoga teachers for over a decade through Aegialis, and SeaRock was built as a smaller, more private option for groups.
