Home › Retreats › HYROX Altitude Training Camp in the Swiss Alps – Chalet Les Rahas
Switzerland · 7 days
Chalet Les Rahas sits in Grimentz, in the Valais canton of Switzerland, at over 1,500 metres altitude. The training setup is on an open-air terrace with a panoramic view of the Alps. The equipment is HYROX-specific: Concept2 RowERG, Concept2 SkiERG, wall balls, functional weights, and dedicated mobility and conditioning zones. It's not a hotel gym with a few dumbbells — it's a dedicated HYROX-style training environment in the mountains, and it's the first of its kind in the Swiss Alps.
The altitude is a core part of the camp. At 1,500m+, your body works harder from the very first session. Training here increases the demands on your heart and lungs, helps you adapt to thinner air and improve oxygen efficiency, and builds the endurance base that carries over to HYROX races at lower elevations. You'll notice it in the first interval session, and over a week you'll feel the difference in how you recover between efforts.
Every camp is tailor-made. The team works directly with athletes, coaches and groups to design the right experience. You can come as an individual athlete, a training group, an elite competitor, or a coach with a team. You can bring your own coach or ask for introductions to local trainers. You choose your accommodation setup, how many sessions you want, and whether you want to combine training with mountain activities. Nothing is fixed — the camp is built around what you need.
Beyond the training terrace, the chalet is a place to switch off and focus. It's set in one of the most beautiful alpine villages in Valais, and the property pairs serious performance facilities with the calm and comfort of a luxury mountain retreat. The environment is quiet and designed for high-performance focus: athletes sleep deeper, recover faster and train sharper. Recovery facilities include a cold room to reduce inflammation and accelerate adaptation, a sauna for heat exposure and cardiovascular benefits, a hammam for steam therapy and muscle relaxation, and a hot tub for warm hydrotherapy under the alpine sky.
Direct mountain access means you can head out on trails in summer or into alpine terrain in winter, so the camp can be as training-focused or as varied as you want. The combination of altitude, a proper HYROX setup, professional-grade recovery and comfortable accommodation makes this different from a standard fitness holiday. It's for people preparing for a HYROX race, building an off-season base, or organising a private training camp where the environment actually supports the work.
Booking is handled personally. You get in touch, say what you need — number of athletes, accommodation, training requirements, duration — and they build the camp around you. Contact Florent Ponsonnet at florent@miggins.ch for a personalised offer.
