Greece · 7 days
A typical day starts early with a running session before the heat builds — Jessica leads these, and they're a mix of threshold work, technique drills and easy aerobic miles. She's a senior coach and test leader at Aktivitus in Stockholm and works with everyone from beginners to elite athletes across running, cycling, triathlon, swimrun and HYROX, so she knows how to pitch a session to a mixed group without leaving anyone behind. After breakfast, the day shifts to the gym for strength work or a HYROX-style circuit: sled push and pull, burpee broad jumps, wall balls, rowing, farmers carries and the running segments that string them all together. Antonia takes the lead on the technical elements, particularly the gymnastics and functional fitness movements, drawing on a decade of training and competing at a high level.
Afternoons mix in lectures and technique briefings with more training. These aren't filler — they cover how to periodise your training for a race, what to prioritise in the final weeks before competition, and the physiology behind why certain sessions work. Jessica handles the training theory side, while Antonia and Anna break down race-day strategy and pacing. There's usually a second training block later in the day, often lower intensity or focused on specific skills, before dinner and an early night.
What sets this apart from a generic fitness holiday is the coaching team. Antonia Fält-Kottulinsky is a multiple CrossFit Games athlete who won Elfit Egypt in November 2022 and has been coaching since 2017, including at CrossFit Nordic in Stockholm. Anna Dahlbom is a health coach and personal trainer who's worked with a broad range of clients and is known for adapting training to the person rather than the other way around. Jessica brings the endurance and physiology expertise. Between the three of them you get strength, technique and running covered by people who actually work in these fields.
The location does a lot of the heavy lifting too. Porto Myrina is a sports hotel — not a resort with a gym bolted on — and it's powered by Playitas, the same group behind the well-known sports resort in Fuerteventura. That means the facilities are built for training groups, the food is calibrated for people training twice a day, and the staff understand what athletes need. Limnos itself is quiet and unspoiled, with decent beaches, a handful of tavernas and not much else, which is exactly the point: there's nothing to distract you from the training.
Group sizes are kept manageable so the coaches can actually watch what you're doing and correct it. Sessions are adapted to the individual, so a complete beginner and someone chasing a sub-60-minute HYROX time can train side by side without either being under- or over-challenged. You'll finish the week with a clear picture of where your fitness is, what your race strategy should look like, and a training plan you can take home and follow through to competition day.
