Home › Retreats › HYROX Race Prep Week in Tenerife with Run, Strength & Recovery Training
Tenerife · 5 days · From EUR 1169
Sessions run from the villa base near Costa Adeje. A typical day starts with an easy run or mobility before breakfast, moves into a main HYROX block late morning, and finishes with a shorter technique or recovery session in the late afternoon. You get clear coaching on the specific race movements: how to pace the ski and row, efficient sled push and pull technique, how to break the wall balls so the last 20 don't bury you, and how to run the transitions between stations without losing time. On the run side, coaches set session targets based on your current 1 km pace and build volume sensibly across the week.
Weights and volumes are scaled to the group. If you're training Open division, the load in the strength sessions is set at Open weights; if you're prepping for Pro or Doubles, the coaches adjust. Nothing is one-size-fits-all, and no one is left standing at the side of the floor because the session is pitched above their level.
The whole week runs out of Travelling Athletes' villa near Costa Adeje, which gives you the combination you want for a race block: on-site equipment, a pool and jacuzzi to sit in after hard sessions, ocean views, and quiet surroundings. You're far enough from the strip to sleep, close enough to drive into town for dinner. Most guests stay 5 to 7 nights depending on the trip option — 5-night camps are available, and 7-night stays give you a longer build and a proper rest day midweek.
What sets this apart from a general fitness holiday is that the coaching is done by people who race HYROX. The camp focuses on race-day demands rather than random conditioning: pacing, transitions, station technique and load management are programmed together. You also get the practical details handled — transfers, meals, room setup — so you don't waste training energy on logistics.
The timing guidance the hub gives is worth repeating: for most athletes, a race-prep camp around six to twelve weeks before race day works well. That's travel planning advice, not individual training or medical advice — your own plan, health and training history determine what's appropriate.
