Kenya HYROX & Hybrid Running Performance Camp with Elite Coach Tiago Lousa

Kenya HYROX & Hybrid Running Performance Camp with Elite Coach Tiago Lousa

Kenya · 9 days

Tiago Lousa runs the camp himself and is on the floor for every session. The content is deliberately broad: season planning (races and training cycles), general and specific strength work, functional bodybuilding with an injury-prevention focus, building the aerobic base through a summer running cycle, and the technical side of racing — technique, pacing, race strategy and nutrition. Expect the day to move between the gym and the road, with classroom sessions in between to explain the why behind the work.

The provisional agenda shows what a day looks like in practice. Thursday runs 14:00–18:00 as an opening block. Friday is the long day, 09:00–16:00 with lunch provided. Saturday splits into a morning session (09:00–12:30) and an afternoon session (14:30–17:00). Sunday finishes with a race test — the Corrida do Tejo 10 km. Athletes register for that race directly on the event page themselves, and organisers advise doing it as soon as possible. That race is the point of the week: everything before it is preparation for it.

What separates this from a standard HYROX weekend course is the company. Alongside Tiago, several World Championship podium athletes are present for the camp, training next to you and pushing the limits. For a 25-person group that's an unusually high ratio of elite experience to athletes, and it's the main reason people come back.

The Kenya setting matters too. Running in Kenya puts you on the same roads and trails that have produced generations of the world's best distance runners — altitude, terrain and a running culture that's hard to replicate anywhere else. It suits the hybrid running side of HYROX far better than a hotel treadmill.

The camp is explicitly open to all levels, but it's structured for people who are already training and want to go up a level, or coaches who want to see a high-performance programme run end to end. Meals and merch are included, and Filipa Ribeiro shoots professional photos across the week — you'll come away with images that look like a race weekend, not holiday snaps.

Dates for this edition are 16–24 January 2027. If you miss it, there's a signup to be notified about the next camp dates and details.
