Kickboxing, MMA & Muay Thai Training in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam · 7 days

Training runs Monday to Friday and splits into two blocks. Mornings are yours for self-training — cardio, strength work and flexibility exercises. If that doesn't appeal, there's an alternative: use the morning slot for the on-site volunteer programme teaching English. Afternoons are the main event, with a coach leading two concurrent sessions. You can come early and do self-training, then move into coached work covering strikes, kicks, punches, blocks and defensive manoeuvres.

The coached portion isn't just shadow-boxing. Sparring sessions are built in, run as controlled rounds so you're practising what you've learned in realistic scenarios rather than drilling into a mirror for a week. Every afternoon ends with a 15-minute passive stretching session led by your coach — it's there specifically to loosen up muscles, work on flexibility and help you recover before the next day.

You choose your discipline. Some people go all-in on Muay Thai for their stay, others split across kickboxing and MMA, and some combine all three for a broader skill set. Instructors are specialists in their respective disciplines, and the programme leans on regular feedback and progress evaluations rather than just letting you grind away unsupervised.

Ho Chi Minh City is a busy, hot, motorbike-heavy place, and training in it is a different experience from a resort camp. The campus has cafés, convenience stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, swimming pools and plenty of restaurants within walking distance, so you can eat and decompress between sessions without travelling far.

The programme runs year-round with start dates every Monday, and you can join for a minimum of one week. That said, most people find the first week is a warm-up — extending to two or more weeks is where technique starts to stick and sparring gets more useful. Note that the operational schedule can be adjusted depending on the specific training centre and trainer availability, and it can change with weather or local conditions.
