Kitesurf & Skate Beach Camp on Turkey's Aegean Coast

Gülbahçe Bay is a flat-water kite spot on the Aegean coast, which makes it unusually easy for beginners — no waves to fight, steady thermal wind in summer, and shallow sections near shore. The school runs lessons from first body-drag sessions through to jumping and transitions. Instructors on staff include Mete, Alican, Ege, Gökhan, Oğulcan and Volkan, all listed as kitesurf trainers, plus founder Nicolas Feraud, who has been travelling and kiting around the world for years and built the concept around that experience.

A typical day starts with breakfast at the house, then a briefing on the day's wind forecast before heading to the beach — the spot is right in front of the property, so there's no transfer. Mornings are usually the best window for lessons when the wind is lighter; afternoons pick up and suit intermediate and advanced riders, freeride sessions, or rental time. Lunch is served back at the house. When the wind drops, you can take a SUP up the river, hit the skate ramp in the backyard, or head to the wakepark — the only kiteboarding-specific wakepark in Europe, according to the house.

What sets this apart from a standard kite camp is that everything is in one place. You don't need a car. The hotel, school, rental and storage, and the spot itself are all on the same stretch of beach. Gear storage is available for guests who bring their own kit, and rental equipment is on site if you don't. Rooms come in four types: Family Room, Comfort Room, Bungalow Tent and a camping area. Each room is styled after a kitesurfing or board-sport destination. Meals are homemade and served at the house — breakfast, lunch and dinner — and guests consistently mention the food in reviews. The kitchen is run by chef Efe Yıldırım.

The house is also set up for people who want to work while they're here — "work your stay" is one of the concepts they run, so Wi-Fi and a place to sit with a laptop are part of the setup.
