Kundalini Yoga and Chakra Meditation Retreat in the Himalayas

The retreat runs for seven days and six nights in Rishikesh, the self-described 'Yoga Capital of the World.' Each day starts with a morning practice block that begins with simple detoxification techniques, moves into pranayama breathing, then into yoga postures. The yoga is taught by Uttam, who has a master's degree in Yoga from Sanskrit University and specializes in Hatha postures and yogic cleansing methods—he adapts every class to your body type and fitness level. Meditation is led by Sanjay Raturi, who was born in a Brahmin family near the source of the Ganges and has practiced mantra and meditation since childhood. He teaches a range of styles including mindfulness, Vedic, Kundalini, and chakra meditation. A third teacher, Kapil Bhatt, was raised in Rishikesh and leads sessions in breathwork, mantra, and deep relaxation. Beyond the mat, the retreat includes study of the seven chakras from root to crown, daily mantras and visualization, and a personal analysis of which chakra might be imbalanced in your body. The program also includes excursions—a visit to a natural waterfall, a trek to an ancient temple, and a look at local village life. Meals are provided three times a day, and the ashram keeps a garden with fresh greens. Guests can walk into the local market for shops and cafes, but the retreat's own schedule keeps you busy most of the day. This is a serious program for people who want to deepen their meditation practice, not just relax on holiday.
