Kurotel is a five-star medical spa resort in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, and it has been operating continuously since 1971. The founding question was simple: what if health were something you consciously build, rather than something you restore after illness? The Método Kur, developed in that first year and refined since, organises every stay around five pillars — water, movement, food, relaxation and balance — and the clinical team designs a personalised daily programme around your genetic profile, body composition and vital signs, with specific measurable objectives.

What separates Kurotel from a standard wellness hotel is that the clinical team is included by default. Physician consultation, nutritional consultation, psychological consultation and physiotherapy consultation are all standard parts of the Método Kur programme, alongside nursing monitoring and body analysis with technical feedback. The programme-specific clinical focuses cover burnout recovery, pre-surgical preparation, longevity, sleep disorder regulation, smoking cessation, stress relief, digital detox, menopausal transition, gut health, cognitive stimulation and medically supervised weight management. Genetic testing is available as an optional add-on if you want to go deeper.

The therapeutic water circuit, the Circuito das Águas, follows European spa tradition. It includes a galvanic bath, fango, manicure and pedicure hydrotherapy and Unterwassermassage, and there's a floating capsule available. The spa also offers therapeutic massage, hot stone massage, and facial and body treatments. On the movement side you'll find yoga, stretching, guided walks through Gramado and to Lago Negro, water aerobics, functional training, core training, interval training and dance-based body dynamics.

Food is taken seriously here. Five gourmet health meals are served daily, personalised to each guest's nutritional plan, and the restaurant runs on the same clinical logic as the rest of the programme. Cooking classes are on offer if you want to take some of it home, and the daily structure is rounded out with live music, recitals and cultural programming.

The team here has been doing preventive medicine since 1971 — well before most of the wellness industry arrived at the same idea. Gramado was not chosen for its scenery. It was chosen because the place is part of the medicine, and the Serra Gaúcha's cool climate and mountain quiet are treated as part of the therapeutic proposition.
