Long-Stay Wellness Living in the Hills Above Phuket Town

Long-Stay Wellness Living in the Hills Above Phuket Town

Thailand · 30 days

The residences are furnished for longer stays: high-speed Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, premium cotton bed linen and towels, and weekly housekeeping. Drinking water is provided with refill stations on site, and there is a community kitchen if you want to cook rather than eat out. Parking is complimentary and shared, on a first-come, first-served basis.

The wellness facilities are spread across the property. Hill Club is the fitness centre, with a gym and exercise facilities. The Thermal Zone has a sauna, herbal steam room and cold shower. The Mist Onsen has hot and cold baths for recovery. There are separate yoga and meditation studios, and an infinity pool with panoramic views over Phuket Town. The Cave Spa handles treatments.

Food on site runs through a Thai tapas menu and a separate wellness menu, so you can eat simply or eat Thai depending on the day. The Plearn Lounge is the social hub, and the co-working space has fast Wi-Fi and room to focus if you are working Phuket time.

What separates this from a standard serviced apartment is the wellness infrastructure and the fact that it is used. Yoga teachers who have brought groups here include Heini Löppönen, a former dancer and dance teacher certified as a yoga teacher in 2011, with RYT 200 and E-RYT 500 qualifications and a Lululemon partnership; Victor Chau, originally from Hong Kong and now based in Singapore, whose Phuket retreat was explicitly built around optional activities and no journaling or transformation agenda; and Natalie Sung and Michael Chan of Pure Yoga in Hong Kong, who run mindful flows and restorative practices on the hillside. Miga Studio from Hong Kong brought 12 students and one lead instructor for a week, running their own private practices alongside the resort's wellness schedule. 100PowerPilates from Chester in the UK has hosted a strength-focused week, and Sanseed, a Japanese yoga studio based in Bangkok, has run an RYT200 yoga retreat here.

The location is the other draw. You are on a hilltop above Phuket Town, close enough to the town for everyday errands and far enough up that the view and the quiet are the first things people mention. It suits remote workers, long-stay expats, couples and solo residents who want a base in Phuket rather than a hotel room.
