Home › Retreats › Luxury Muay Thai Retreats with Pro Fighter Sean Fagan — Costa Rica, Thailand, Morocco & New York
Costa Rica · 7 days · From EUR 1695
Sean Fagan started at Stockade Muay Thai in Kingston, NY under JJ Russo, at the end of a boxing career. Thirty-plus fights later he'd competed on Lion Fight, fought on national Thai TV, won two amateur championships (one with a broken arm) and taken a title at Madison Square Garden. He retired from competing and went full-time into coaching. His YouTube channel and Muay Thai Guy brand have reached millions of fighters and hobbyists, and Muay Thai Vacations is how he puts that same instruction in front of a room of students for a full week at a time.
The trips are built so the training is real and the rest actually feels like a holiday. A typical day is a morning session and an afternoon or evening session, each about 90 minutes, with the hours in between filled by the destination. In Costa Rica that means a surf lesson or a full body massage, daily morning yoga, open BJJ, and the saltwater infinity pool at Jungle's Edge — ranked one of the ten coolest in the world. In Thailand it means ten training days at FitKoh, two live stadium fight nights, kettlebells on the beach, ice baths and breathwork, a sunset boat trip, a waterfall hike and Songkran on Chaweng Beach Road. In Morocco it means Muay Thai and surf in the morning, yoga at sunset, and souks, medinas and tagine dinners between sessions.
Groups are mixed ability by design. People who have never thrown a punch train alongside guests with ten years of gym time, and coaches scale every drill and partner exercise to the individual. Nobody is asked to do anything they aren't comfortable with, and skipping a session to sit by the pool is fine.
The New Paltz weekend is the odd one out and the easiest entry point: fly into NYC, drive 90 minutes upstate, train with Sean at his home gym, and be back to real life by Sunday night. It includes two private lessons with Sean, a group session at Gambit Fighting, and a private studio on his property.
Sean's coaching is the thread through all four. He's spent over a decade teaching, and the classes are built around smart, honest technique rather than grinding people into the ground. More than 500 guests have been through the trips so far.
