Marrakech · 7 days · From EUR 1095
A typical day starts around 7:30 with tea on the terrace, then 90 minutes of yoga in the garden studio while it's still cool. Breakfast is laid out afterwards — fresh fruit, msemen pancakes, eggs, olives, bread, coffee. Late morning is either free time by the pool or a group outing: a walk in the Ourika Valley, a trip up to the village of Imlil below Mount Toubkal, or a morning in Marrakech's Medina with a guide. Lunch is back at the villa. Afternoons are deliberately empty — hammam and massage appointments can be arranged, or you can read, swim, or take a taxi into town. The second yoga class runs late afternoon before dinner, which is a three-course vegetarian meal eaten outside when the weather allows. Evenings finish early; most people are in bed by 10.
What separates this from the many yoga-plus-sun holidays in Morocco is the group size and the fact that the same two teachers run both daily classes, so the week builds instead of feeling like a series of unrelated drop-ins. The villa is also genuinely private — no other guests, no restaurant service, no shared pool — which makes it work well for people travelling alone who don't want a hotel lobby. Two full-day excursions are built into the week rather than sold as extras, and the second one includes a Berber family lunch in the mountains.
Classes are taught by experienced teachers with British Wheel of Yoga or Yoga Alliance certification and at least eight years of teaching behind them, though the exact teacher varies by departure — the schedule lists both a lead teacher and an assistant for the larger weeks. They adjust the morning sessions for anyone with injuries and offer hands-on adjustments only with consent, which is stated at the start of the week.
Location-wise the villa sits in the palm groves on the edge of a small village, roughly 20 minutes from Marrakech's city walls and 45 minutes from the trailheads in the Atlas. Marrakech Menara airport is the arrival point for almost everyone. Daytime temperatures in spring and autumn sit in the mid-to-high twenties, which is why the retreat runs in those windows rather than midsummer.
