Spain · 7 days · From EUR 1190
Calpe sits on Spain's Costa Blanca, about an hour north of Alicante, and it's a proper seaside town — Penyal d'Ifac rocks up out of the sea at the north end of the beach, and the town itself has a working fishing port, an old town up the hill and a long stretch of sand. The camp is based here, close enough to the water that mornings start with the sea in view.
Training runs in two blocks a day. Mornings are the main session: strength work in the gym or conditioning and cardio on the beach, depending on the day. Expect kettlebells, bodyweight circuits, sled work, running intervals, hill sprints and the kind of team-based finisher that leaves everyone on the sand breathing hard. The coach scales every movement, so the guy doing pull-ups and the woman doing her first push-up are in the same session, just at different loads.
Afternoons are lighter and voluntary — mobility and stretching, a swim, or a hike up to the Penyal d'Ifac if the group's up for it. Evening sessions, when they run, are usually yoga and stretching to get you ready for the next day rather than another beating.
What separates this from a bootcamp you'd do at home is the setting. You're training outdoors on a Mediterranean beach in November, and the recovery happens in salt water rather than a gym changing room. Instructors here are working coaches with strength and conditioning backgrounds and years of teaching group fitness — the sessions are structured, not improvised shouting.
The month option matters. A week gives you a reset and a tan; four weeks gives you enough consecutive training to build actual fitness, and the camp drops the price per week for the longer stay. Food is cooked on-site and built around fresh fish, vegetables, rice and salads with plenty of protein to match the volume of training.
Accommodation is a villa within walking distance of the beach and gym, with shared and private rooms, a pool, wifi and air conditioning. It's comfortable rather than luxurious — think group house with decent beds and a proper kitchen, not a hotel.
