Tuscany · 8 days · From USD 2100
This 8-day retreat takes you across the Tuscan countryside, from one charming village to the next, staying each night in a different carefully chosen hotel or family-run agriturismo. The walking is the core of the experience—you cover about 23 kilometers a day, which is enough to feel accomplished but paced so you can actually enjoy the surroundings. The route passes through vineyards, olive groves, and cypress-lined paths, with stops in small villages where you can pick up snacks or grab lunch at a cafe.
What sets this retreat apart is the emphasis on mindful hiking. It's not just about covering distance—it's about being present, noticing your breath, and letting your mind settle. Your host, Gerda, walks with you every day and creates a space where you can go at your own pace, whether that means chatting with the group or walking in silence. She's a trained guide who started hiking in 2022 on the Camino de Santiago and has built this retreat around the idea that walking in nature can be a form of self-discovery.
The accommodations are part of the charm. You'll stay in different agriturismos and hotels throughout the week, each with its own character and history. On the last night, you stay two nights in one place to celebrate the journey. The rooms are shared twin rooms, which keeps the price down and adds to the group feel. The food is another highlight—breakfasts are provided each morning, and dinners are shared group meals at local restaurants where you can try fresh, regional Tuscan dishes.
