The core of a stay is the Mayr cure as VIVAMAYR practises it: a medical assessment at the start, a personalised plan, and a daily rhythm of treatments, rest and carefully controlled food. Traditional diagnostics and Dr. F. X. Mayr therapy are combined with modern complementary medicine. You can add modules depending on what you want from the week — gut health, immune support, healthy ageing, mental resilience, a full health check, or recovery and performance for people training hard.
The Holistic Health Weeks are the version with a group element. Yoga, qigong, breath and voice work and mindfulness sit alongside the medical programme, and there are shared experiences with the other guests in the week. The medical side is still tailored to you, so the movement sessions support what the doctors have set up rather than replacing it.
What separates this from a standard wellness hotel is the medical staffing and diagnostics. Guests write about the medical team by name in their feedback — Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl mention the medical staff and recommended treatments, and Malaika Mihambo describes the cure as efficient for regenerating body and mind after competition. The kitchen is run to the programme's rules, which is why a three-star chef came here to learn about nutrition rather than to eat.
The setting does the rest. The resort is on Lake Wörthersee at Maria Wörth, with lake views from the property, stand-up paddle boarding on the water and mountain hikes starting behind the resort. One guest, Burghart Houben, stayed six weeks and wrote about lakeside views, paddle boarding and hikes. Shorter stays are the norm; there is also a three-day VIVAMAYR Diagnostics option for people who want the assessment without a long leave.
VIVAMAYR also runs locations at Clubhouse Bebek in Istanbul and at Dhun Wellness in Mumbai, but the Holistic Health Weeks and the lakeside setting described here belong to Maria Wörth.
