Chiang Mai · 30 days · From USD 222
Mala Dhara is a yoga retreat center run by women, founded by Ploy Issarajun, who built it around a decade ago to serve both local and international yoga communities. The property is made of adobe structures designed to blend into the rice fields, with a focus on sustainability and connection to the land.
The September 'Month of Stillness' is an in-house retreat, meaning it's hosted by the founder herself rather than a visiting teacher. It includes daily morning and evening yoga and meditation, breathwork, access to the saltwater pool with a waterfall, and a traditional Thai herbal steam and body scrub. Evenings may include improvised musical jams and dance under the stars.
Food is a highlight at the Kin Dee restaurant, which serves vegetarian and vegan meals that stand on their own, with seasonal ingredients. The vibe is beginner-friendly, and all ages are welcome. You can book a shared twin room or upgrade to a private space.
The retreat is about simplifying, not over-scheduling. Between sessions, you're free to rest, read, swim, or explore nearby caves and natural hot springs. It's a chance to slow down and see what surfaces when you do.
