Home › Retreats › Morocco Yoga & Adventure Week: Atlas Mountains to Atlantic Coast
Marrakech · 8 days · From USD 3180
The retreat runs for eight days, arriving Monday and leaving the following Monday. The first morning is a gentle yoga class in the riad courtyard after breakfast, followed by a walk through the medina in the afternoon. Day 2 is the long one: an early start for the drive into the High Atlas, a hike of a few hours through the valleys, lunch in a Berber village, and a stop at a local cooperative on the way back. Day 3 and Day 4 are a two-day trip south to the edge of the Sahara — you ride camels in the late afternoon, sleep in a desert camp, and wake for sunrise before driving back to the riad.
Midweek the schedule eases up. There's a yoga class in the morning and then a free afternoon — some people walk into town, others sit by the pool. Day 6 is the Atlantic day: a drive to the coast for a beach walk, a swim if the water's warm enough, and lunch at a seafood place on the harbour. Day 7 is a cooking class back at the riad — tagine, couscous, msemen — followed by a hammam in the late afternoon. The last morning is a closing yoga session and breakfast before transfers to the airport.
What separates this one from a plain Morocco tour is that the yoga is built into the day rather than tacked on, and the two big excursions — the Sahara camp and the Atlas hike — are included rather than offered as add-ons. The daily rhythm is: movement in the morning, out in the afternoon, back for dinner.
The lead teachers change by departure. For the May 2027 Atlas to Atlantic week, yoga is led by Jen, who has run the sequence on this trip for several seasons and knows which courtyards and terraces have shade at which time of day. Local guides handle the Atlas hike and the desert crossing.
