Home › Retreats › Muay Thai Fight Camp on Koh Samui: Train, Eat & Stay at Punch it Village
Koh Samui · 7 days · From EUR 300
A typical day runs on the standard Thai camp rhythm. Morning session starts early — small group runs and skipping to warm up, then pad work, bag work and clinch drills with the coaches. Afternoon is the second session, usually technique-focused with more clinching and conditioning rounds. Between sessions you eat, rest, swim, walk to the beach or get a massage. Group classes and private sessions both run daily.
Training takes place across dedicated areas rather than one room: a main gym with bags and pads, and the newer Punch it Fitness Performance Center, led in part by Fighter Four, which mixes modern strength and conditioning methods with the traditional Muay Thai work. All training rates include test Punch it gloves and shin guards, and hand wraps can be rented for 50 THB or bought from the shop alongside shorts, T-shirts and mouth guards. Free access to the fitness centre comes with every training rate.
What separates this from a lot of camps is that the whole operation is under one roof. You don't train at one gym and sleep somewhere across town. Rooms are on-site, the Healthy Café is at the gym, the shop is in the same building, and the back office team — reservations, front office, guest service — is reachable in person during your stay. Nancy in reservations brings over 10 years of hotel experience; Rose handles front office. Several staff members are specifically there to help organise your stay before and after you arrive.
The café is a real part of the offer, not an afterthought. Beer, the head chef, came from 5-star kitchens and runs a menu of fresh dishes; Si Thu, Tris and Ni make coffee and press fresh fruit and vegetable juices to order; Ginger has over 20 years in kitchens and handles prep and the breakfast menu. There's also a clothing and equipment side to the business — Muk, Meaw, Ken, Ning, Kook-Kai, Som and Por cut and sew Punch it apparel on site, and Omair and Rabbit supervise production. If you want custom gear, Noina coordinates those orders.
Location-wise you're in Lamai, on the eastern side of Koh Samui, one of the more laid-back parts of the island. Lamai Beach is a 15-minute walk from the gym, so you can train in the morning and be on the sand in the afternoon. The camp is close to shops, restaurants and the usual island infrastructure, but far enough from the busy beach-club strip that it stays quiet when you need to recover between sessions. The gym has also gone solar, part of a stated push toward a greener setup for the Samui operation.
