Muay Thai Training Camp in the Chiang Mai Hills

Muay Thai Training Camp in the Chiang Mai Hills

Chiang Mai · 7 days · From THB 14600

A typical day at TMT Chiang Mai starts early, with a run through the forest mountain trail before the first Muay Thai session. Training runs in groups divided by level — beginners, intermediate and advanced — so the pad work and technique coaching match what you can actually do. Sessions cover the standard Muay Thai toolkit: stance and footwork, punches, kicks, knees and elbows, clinch work, and pad and bag rounds. The camp has two rings and 15 punching bags, plus a weight room for strength work and a pool for recovery afterwards.

What separates this camp from the Phuket original is size and pace. It is a smaller, more familiar facility, built for people who want an alternative to a larger, busier gym. The land runs to more than 4,000 square metres, directly next to protected National Forest, with mountains and open fields around it. Guests have made field trips to nearby hills and temples, and the camp has held Wai Kru Muay Thai ceremonies on site.

The trainers are all experienced former fighters who built their careers in Bangkok, Southern and North-Eastern Thailand. Many won the sport's most prestigious titles at Lumpinee and Rajadamnern stadiums. As of 8 October 2024, all Tiger Muay Thai Chiang Mai trainers are certified by the World Muay Thai Alliance Association. The camp also runs a Muay Thai Trainer Certificate course with Thai professionals — the next one listed is on 18 February 2026.

Yoga is offered alongside Muay Thai on the current class list, useful for hips and shoulders after a week of kicking. The camp can also advise on long-stay tourist visas, which matters if you are planning to train for a month or more rather than a week.

Location-wise, San Sai is a large suburb roughly 24 km north of Chiang Mai city and the airport. The immediate area is forest, fields and mountains, with a large reservoir and recreational lake close by. Chiang Mai itself suits people who want adventure activities in hill and mountain country between training blocks.
