Koh Phangan · 7 days · From EUR 180
Training runs in two blocks. The morning session is 8–10 AM and the afternoon session is 4–6 PM, Monday through Saturday, with Sunday off. You can book one session a day or two. First-timers can take a 300B taster session, a single day is 400B for one session or 600B for two, a week is 2000B for six sessions or 3000B for twelve, and a month is 7000B for 24 sessions or 10000B for 48. A Diamond 10 Card gives you ten group sessions to use whenever you like for 3000B, and a Diamond All Access weekly/monthly pass is 5000B/18000B. Training-only packages booked and paid at least a month in advance get 10 percent off, non-refundable. Private lessons run 700B an hour (2,500B with Santos), a 10-card of privates is 6000B, personal training with Jinks is 700B an hour or 6000B for ten, and yoga classes are 600B.
The Train and Stay package is the all-inclusive option and is priced per person: two 2-hour Muay Thai sessions a day, two home-cooked Thai meals a day served after training, yoga for Muay Thai classes, Muay Thai for fitness classes, 24/7 gym access and your room. Rooms range from a single bamboo gym bungalow with a fan at 7000B a week to a Deluxe Suite AC with a fridge and cooking facilities at 12000B a week. Sheets and towels are provided in all rooms; cleaning and sheet changes cost 300 baht, and there are local express laundry services if you want to wash them yourself.
What separates this camp from the many others on the island is that everything is on one site and the long-stay students keep coming back. There are fan-cooled bamboo huts with high thatched roofs and hammocks, newly renovated air-conditioned bungalows with en-suite hot showers, and off-site deluxe apartments with a kitchen for anyone staying a month or more. Shared rooms are usually grouped by gender where possible, but they are booked first come, first served.
Check-in is 3 PM or later and check-out is by midday; a one-month stay is 28 nights. Drop-ins are welcome outside the Train and Stay programme, but during high season (December–March) the camp limits drop-in numbers to keep the student-to-trainer ratio good, so you need to check at the front office before joining a class. Couples are charged the twin price per person for the package, and the single deluxe rooms come with a double bed.
The days off are yours. The camp is relaxed and sociable, with people from all over the world to talk to as you recover from training, and there are day trips to the island's attractions. If your dates fall around a Full Moon, expect to be going to the party with your trainers.
