Muay Thai Vacation: Train With a Pro Fighter in Costa Rica, Thailand, New York or Morocco

United States · 7 days · From EUR 1695

The core of every one of these trips is the training. Expect roughly 90 minutes per session, usually one in the morning and one in the late afternoon, mixing pad rounds with Sean, partner drills, technique breakdowns, and conditioning. Sparring and clinch work show up on the longer trips for anyone who wants it. Sean has competed on Lion Fight, fought on national Thai TV, won two amateur championships (one with a broken arm) and taken a title at Madison Square Garden, and he's been coaching full-time for over 10 years. Classes are scaled to whoever's in the room — a total beginner and someone with five years of gym time can train side by side without either being bored or out of their depth.

The Costa Rica trip (7 nights, Nosara, from $2,195) is the most resort-flavoured. You stay at Jungle's Edge Resort, an eco-focused property at the edge of the jungle with a saltwater infinity pool that's been ranked one of the ten coolest in the world. Twice-daily Muay Thai, daily morning yoga with a pro instructor, open BJJ sessions, a surf lesson or a full-body massage, three meals a day plus a post-workout tropical smoothie, waterfall hikes, sunset watch parties and beach bonfires. Groups run 15–30 people.

The Thailand trip (11 nights, Koh Samui, from ,695) is the flagship and the longest. You train at FitKoh in Ban Tai for 10 training days, attend two live stadium fight nights, and do combat-strength work and kettlebell sessions on the beach. There's ice bath and breathwork programming, yoga and mobility, a sunset boat trip, a waterfall hike, and the whole group does Songkran together on Chaweng Beach Road. Same group size range, 15–30.

Morocco (7 nights, boutique stone hotel on the Atlantic, price and 2027 dates TBD) has a slightly different rhythm: Muay Thai with sea views in the morning, surf in the Atlantic swell, yoga at sunset, and oceanside partner drills and light sparring. Between sessions there are guided excursions and time in the souks and medinas, with tagine dinners back at the hotel. Group size is tighter here — 10–15.

New Paltz, New York (2 nights, from ,995) is for anyone who can't take a full week off. You fly into NYC, drive 90 minutes upstate, and train with Sean at his home gym: two private Muay Thai lessons plus one group session at Gambit Fighting. You stay in a private studio on Sean's property, hike the River to Ridge and Mohonk trails, and eat brunch, dinners and drinks at local spots. All ground transport is included. It's capped at 1–2 people, so it's effectively private coaching with a weekend attached.

Sean started under JJ Russo at Stockade Muay Thai in Kingston, NY, at the end of a boxing career, and has stayed in the sport since. Muay Thai Vacations is his way of taking the instruction he puts out to millions of viewers on YouTube and doing it in person, with real students, for a full week at a time. Over 500 guests have come through so far.
