Home › Retreats › Muay Thai & Wellness Retreat in Rural Thailand with Yoga, Ice Baths and Temple Trips
Thailand · 7 days · From EUR 585
A normal day starts around 6:30am with a run or skipping to warm up, then two hours of Muay Thai: shadow boxing, pad rounds with a trainer, heavy bag work and clinch. Breakfast is after training, then the middle of the day is free — people sleep, swim, sit by the pool or head into town. The second session runs late afternoon, usually technique and conditioning rather than sparring, and dinner follows in the evening. Sundays are rest days, which is when most of the excursions happen.
What separates this from a gym holiday is the location. Phetchabun is farmland and small towns, not a beach resort, so the week includes things you wouldn't get near a tourist strip: a Buddha run, a hike and a swim at a waterfall, a lake trip, a night market, and in the Wellness package a visit to a local monk and a temple tour. The trainers are Thai and the camp is run as a family rather than a business — that's stated on the page and it's the thing most guest reviews mention.
Facilities are simple but well set up for training: a covered gym, pool, ice bath, and massage available on site. Rooms are on the property, so you walk from your bed to the ring. Meals are cooked at the camp — Thai food, three times a day, with portions sized for people training twice daily.
The Wellness package adds yoga and aerial yoga sessions, meditation, and a free Thai massage, plus the cultural trips. If you want the training and nothing else, the Fitness package strips those out and costs less. Both run as seven-day programs, with prices varying by room type and season.
It suits people who want to train properly in an authentic setting rather than combine Muay Thai with a beach holiday. Beginners are explicitly welcomed and the camp is known for it; experienced fighters also train here and the trainers adjust rounds accordingly. The camp has a 2025 Travellers' Choice award, and the guest quotes on the page skew towards food, community and the rural setting more than anything else.
