New Year's Wellness Reset: Shamanic Yoga Retreat in Masaya, Nicaragua

The retreat is centered around the Chakana, or Inka Cross, and the wisdom of the Q'ero Nation from the Andes. Each day, you'll explore the three worlds of the Chakana: the Lower World (associated with the Serpent and letting go), the Middle World (connected to the Puma and facing fears), and the Upper World (linked to the Condor and expanding consciousness). This isn't a passive experience—it's an active process of shedding old patterns and finding your own truth, guided by the ceremonies.

Your host, Anthony Alcalde, brings both his Nicaraguan and Peruvian heritage to the experience. He's a 500E-RYT yoga instructor and AcroYoga certified, with over two decades of teaching experience. He lives on the property, so you're not just a guest in a retreat center—you're invited into his home. This personal touch is what sets this retreat apart. The small group size means everything is tailored to you, from the yoga practices to the ceremonies.

The property itself is surrounded by fruit trees and herbs, which you'll see every morning from your room and use in your meals and ceremonies. The setting is a tranquil, natural oasis just a short walk from the vibrant town of Masaya, known for its indigenous culture and markets.
