Plant-Based Wellness Stay on a 19-Acre Food Forest Estate in St. Croix

Europe · 7 days

The core of a stay here is simple: you sleep in a restored historic building, eat plant-based food, and spend your days outdoors on the island. The inn describes itself as both a hotel and a retreat space, so the shape of your week depends on whether you book a room on your own or come with a hosted retreat group.

The land is the main draw. The 19-acre estate holds a food forest of more than 100 fruit and nut trees, tropical gardens, historic ruins and a stand of baobab trees that rank among the oldest in the Caribbean. The team actively works the land with regenerative and conservation projects, and guests can see that work up close rather than just hearing about it.

What sets it apart from a typical Caribbean wellness hotel is the combination of a 100% plant-based kitchen, a working food forest and more than two and a half centuries of history in the buildings themselves. This isn't a new-build resort with a yoga deck bolted on. The estate has been restored with care to keep its history intact.

The page does not name a resident instructor or a fixed class timetable. Retreats are hosted here by visiting leaders, so the teaching, style and schedule vary by group. If you want structured yoga, breathwork or fitness sessions, book into a hosted retreat and check who's leading it.

Location-wise, you're on St. Croix's west coast near Frederiksted, a small town with a long pier, colourful colonial buildings and easy access to quiet beaches. The island has plenty to do beyond the property: snorkelling, hiking in the rainforest on the northwest side, and a lot of Danish colonial and Caribbean history.

The inn also welcomes volunteers and collaborators, which tells you something about the atmosphere: it's a place run by people who care about the land, not a big hospitality operation.
