Private Mental Health & Wellbeing Retreat in Barbados

Barbados · 7 days

The programme is run by a clinical team that includes a consultant psychiatrist, psychologists, a GP and therapists, plus people who lead the outdoor and movement side. You start with an assessment — usually before you fly, by video — so the first full day on the island isn't wasted on intake. From there you get a schedule that mixes one-to-one therapy, medical reviews, and time outside. A typical day might be a therapy session after breakfast, a couple of hours to yourself, a walk or swim, then another session in the late afternoon and something low-key in the evening.

What makes this different from a standard rehab or a wellness retreat is that it's one person, couple or family at a time. You won't sit in a group circle or share a dining room with strangers. The team works only with you while you're there. That level of privacy is the main reason people choose it — it's built for someone who can't risk being seen at a clinic in their own city.

The island setting does a lot of the work too. Barbados is warm year-round, with beaches on the west coast that are calm enough for easy swimming, and the interior has botanical gardens and old plantation houses. The programme uses that: walks on the beach, time in the garden, and getting outside early before the heat builds. It's not a bootcamp — the movement is gentle and meant to support sleep and mood, not to tire you out.

Stays are usually one to four weeks. You can come on your own, with a partner if the issue is the relationship, or with family if that's what's needed. The team will tell you honestly at the assessment stage whether they think they can help and roughly how long you should plan for. There's no fixed price list because everything is built around the individual — you'll get a quote after the initial consultation.

If you're looking for a group retreat with yoga classes and a set itinerary, this isn't that. If you need proper clinical help somewhere private, with people who are used to working with high-profile clients, this is what it's for.
