Andalusia · 8 days · From EUR 1515 (indicative)
Days follow a fixed rhythm. Morning yoga at 8am, breakfast at 10am, lunch at 2pm, evening yoga at 5pm, dinner at 7pm, and an optional meditation at 8:45pm. The morning class is the active one; the evening class is slower and more restorative. Both run up to two hours, and Eva and Gabriel demonstrate and correct through all the major poses rather than calling out a sequence and leaving you to it.
The teaching is Purna Yoga, which the teachers introduce gradually across the week — one guest describes it as a "deep and smooth introduction". Classes are pitched so beginners and experienced students practise side by side; several past guests mention that the mixed level worked for them. If you want a head start, the teachers' site has a Purna Yoga Basics section covering simple practices that come up during the week.
The setting is a restored farmhouse in the Spanish countryside, about 25 minutes from Málaga airport. The yoga studio has a sea view over the valley and a Yoga Wall, which is unusual for a retreat this size and lets the teachers work on supported poses you would not normally get in a drop-in class. Outside the studio there are gardens, birdsong and a pool.
Afternoons are free. Guests share taxis to the beach, and Elisabeth on reception arranges rides all week. Nerja and its caves, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, hiking in the hills, horseback riding and golf are all within reach, and massages are available at Santillán. Longer day trips to Málaga, Sevilla, Córdoba and Granada are possible without renting a car.
Gonzalo Verdugo, an intuitive massage therapist from Chile with more than 25 years' experience, joins for the week offering private sessions and a massage workshop. He teaches sold-out workshops in Europe each year.
April weather in Málaga is mild — daytime highs around 20–25°C, cooler evenings, and the occasional shower, with sea temperatures around 17°C.
